Nimbus steel series controller (menu button) not working anymore with some gameswith Apple tV

Dear community,

I need an help from you!

I have a Apple TV 4K, arcade subscription and a Nimbus steel controller to play. Since 2 weeks, while I'm in the game apps, when I push the menu button on Nimbus the control center appears on the TV not allowing me to do anything apart switch off Apple TV. To start many games in arcade (es NBA 2k23, Cat quest, NBA 2k22, ..) you have only to push the menu button on the controller in their starting page (and the remote is not allowed to do this) and if the control center appears you can not play!

I've also seen that pushing the menu button now the control panel appears also in the apple tv home page.

maybe this is normal (and useful) , but it is not normal the control center appears also during the game sessions

please help me to start the games

I happened to get a nimbus+ controller (successor of nimbus), which has additional buttons. With nimbus+, there's no issue.

(Doesn't solve the issue with nimbus but might be of interest for others)

Do you see the issue with a nimbus or with a nimbus+?

I wonder whether to acquire a nimbus+ as I need a second controller anyways (have a nimbus and the same issue), but if the issue is also occurring with nimbus+ I have to go for a different controller type...

Have you solved the problem of menu button and control center?

I can’t play because the nimbus home button does not work. Instead of going back it opens control panel.

I also experience very poor and unstable Bluetooth connection between the nimbus+ and my brand new Apple TV.

Same for me. I have no clue how to disable the control center. The nimbus+ controller, an official controller out of the Apple Store is right now useless at my how.

It’s ridiculous how things may get complicated for users through os updates.

Have you tried contacting Nimbus about this? They are the experts on their products.

I tried Cat Quest, and I only had to use the A, B, X, Y buttons (with Xbox controller).

unfortunately the nimbus support is not helpful.

You are right Cat quest doesn’t need menu button to start as nba2k23 does. Thanks anyway!

I am having the same problem. I have a Nimbus not a Nimbus plus. And I don’t have the button that has the three lines on it so I can’t even start this game! Somebody please help.
