Account locked on MacBook Pro not on iPad

When restarting 2021 MacBook Pro it did not recognize my password. I used my iPad to reset the password which was recognized by both the iPad and my iPhone, but still not recognized by the MacBook. The MacBook says my account is locked and will not accept any password. Any ideas would be appreciated.

For help with an Apple ID login, test fully signing out of your Apple ID to sign back in with the new password. The steps found in the guide here: Sign in or out of your Apple ID on Mac If not using macOS Ventura, be sure to change the macOS version from the drop down menu to view details for your macOS.


If you're seeing one of the alerts listed from the article you started from If your Apple ID is locked or disabled, test a normal restart of your Mac, and test the new password again. If you previously used keychain, be sure the password is updated here as well: Manage passwords using keychains on Mac - Apple Support


If you're referring to your Mac login, be sure the steps here were completed: If you forgot your Mac login password


If you continue to have issues with signing into your Apple ID using the new password, reach out to Apple Support directly to further assist.
