Even after trying Command + R or Command + Option + R ; I still can't get into Recovery Mode with Ventura.
What's going on? Those should be the correct keyboard commands; no?

Correct. Only the physical power button on the back of the iMac will work to manually launch macOS Recovery.
On Mac notebooks/laptops, the built-in Touch ID sensor also happens to be the power button. That isn’t the case for Mac desktops (iMac, Mac mini, etc.)

Got it. Saw Laptop users using the "touch ID" button; for restarts etc; but that doesn't work on the imac. Gotta hit the real button on the back.
It's an M1 iMac.
Ok; so when I press and hold my power button (touch ID) it simply takes me to the lock screen. What am I doing wrong. Should I use the actual physical power button on the back of the mac?
The KEY word is Shut down
Doing a Restart will not work
It has to be totally Shutdown and pause for maybe 10 seconds then proceed as per pervious instruction
