Mail won't open after Ventura update
Is anyone else having trouble with the mail app since updating to Ventura? Every time I try to open it it closes straight away and I get the error message Mail quit unexpectedly.

I fixed the problem with Mac OS Ventura mail crashing every time I tried to open with this article followed step by step. Specifically the "Delete envelope index files" section. After deleting these in safe mode mail was restored.
So Apple leaves us to flounder discussing all these problems amongst ourselves in an attempt to guess what's gone wrong with their software this time. I have just updated to Ventura and now everything is slow, but the main problem is this. Apple should help more instead of remaining aloof. I am meant to be working here on a deadline!
"Mail cannot access your mailbox information because it’s already in use.
Another application on your computer or on your local network is using your mailbox information. Click Quit to quit Mail. Then log out of this computer and any other computer you’re using. After you log in again, open Mail on one computer only"
Thanks for the reply. I tried all those options but it still will not open. I just did a reinstall of Ventura and it hasn't fixed the problem either. I sent a report to Apple so hopefully there will be an update that fixes it soon.
Interesting is this the Only Application acting this way ?
Is this a New Issue or Old Issue as in existed before the upgrade to Ventura
What actions has the user taken to fix this issue aside from reinstalling ?
Reliable , accurate, details /context will really help to pinpoint a possible solution.
Thank you for continued support.
any value on follwing points 2 and 3 on:

Although i dont have a v8 folder as its mentions, only a V10.... although not sure what that means
?
I have the same problem.
After upgrade to Ventura this AM, when I double click my mail it will not open and there is a small mail icon on the L/H side center of display. I click on the small 'mail' icon and nothing happens.
im down to 2 of my 11 mail accounts required. 1 is the same server set up as 5 others, but the 1 works, the 5 others which are set up exactly the same, dont work.
Support says to delete and readd, and it says 'will remove Notes also'. Will this deelte my Apple Notes entries completely or just from this machine?
I have the same issue with the native mail client after upgrading to Ventura. All I get are about 2 seconds to see the mail client open then crash reports. I have sent multiple crash reports to Apple. Any idea how to fix?
Have the same issue. Upgraded to Ventura and I cannot open the native email client to access my accounts. All I get are crash reports that I have sent to Apple. Let me know if you find a solution and I will do the same
So many problems after upgrading to Ventura. If I open an email it hides in the background, I have to close mail to see it. My HP scanner appears to scan documents and shows the document but, when I save it, and attach it it is blank.
Nothing works properly. Come on Apple sort this out!
i have, in Settings/Privacy&Security, turned it off, and on, and off again. In all situations, Mail still crashes
Once a reply from the Developer is received, would in interested in their " Solution " out of personal interest 😀
im unsure this will change the issue as i switched it off and Apple Mail still crashes
EtreCheck is attached but machine is new and Ventura installed only today
Thank you for the Report.
I will dissect it in detail.
Will get back to you shortly
Good work there 👍
