How to set the menu bar to transparent (or translucent)
In Ventura: my menu bar is solid black regardless of what color wallpaper I use. I'd like it to be transparent (or translucent, whichever is correct).
iMac 24″, macOS 13.0

Make sure "Reduce transparency" is not checked in System Settings > Accessibility > Display.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that is is unchecked. And in Appearance the light mode is set to automatic. I am running a 3rd party wallpaper changer, Magic Window.

What happens if you disable that?
That's what appears to be the problem. I switched to the Ventura wall papers and it was corrected. I'll give Magic Window a report. Thanks for the help.
First, you can set Appearence to Light, Dark or Auto. Auto switches from light to Dark depending on the time of day. You might want to disable Magic Window to see if it is causing an issue.
Do not think this impossible but will defer to more Learned Contributors
You're welcome.
