Ventura not syncing exchange/outlook calendar entries
Exchange/ Outlook calendar entries not syncing with ical
Exchange/ Outlook calendar entries not syncing with ical
I had this same issue when I upgraded to Ventura. I found there is a process called exchangesyncd that controls the sync with the calendar app (and probably other things like contacts, notes, etc). The point is that I was able to go into Activity Monitor (use CMD + Space and type activity monitor in the search bar), and then type exchangesyncd in the search field within Activity Monitor, do a force quit on it (select the process on the list and then hit the X shaped button on top then force quit). It will take several seconds for the process to restart by itself, and then a few more seconds for the sync to start working on the calendar app. It took maybe 20 seconds in my case to start seeing the calendar sync again.
I remember back in Monterey I had this issue pop up every now and then. A full restart would fix it, but then I found a process called calendaragent and I would do the same thing I described above. Calendaragent is now gone in Ventura, but my guess is that exchangesyncd replaces it, as it behaves the same way. Hope this helps out!
I finally bit the bullet and completely deleted my Exchange account, restarted the computer, and added it back in. It's going to take probably a few days to completely download everything again, but at the very least it looks like my Exchange calendar information is getting downloaded. Will just be letting everything sit over the long holiday weekend, and hopefully by the time Monday rolls around everything will be synced and can stay synced. Fingers crossed.
Having spent at least an hour with Apple Support the short answer is no. They want to push the issue onto Microsoft, which I do not believe it belongs to. I am currently trying to restore Monterey on that mackine. Forturnately, I have a couple of others that I have not upgraded that are working fine with Monterey.
This problem already existed before Monterey. It is just getting worse.
The problem started with around macOS 11.
You can sync, after some days it stops syncing with exchange. You have to remove the configuration with exchange, reconnect, then it works again for some days.
Since Monterey it sometimes works only for hours.
Maybe since Ventura it is broken completely. (I have not updated yet)
I had already several cases opened, none of them were solved.
I have upgraded to Ventura now and to be honest, it looks to be stable now.
I'm using Exchange (Microsoft 365) as the company account, besides of the iCloud accounts with my family.
I have configured Microsoft Office (Outlook) and Apple-Mail/Calender/Contacts/Tasks to the Exchange-Online Account.
I'm using both in parallel (I like the overview in Apple-Calender).
Since the upgrade to Ventura, Apple-Calender is syncing without any problems. But we will see if it still syncs in a few days.
Having this same issue after the Ventura update. I have 3 separate Exchange accounts configured on my Mac. 2 of them are low volume departmental accounts, and the 3rd is my own individual account. The departmental ones are operating just fine, but my individual account is not working right. No updates show up in Calendar. Most* calendar invitations/cancellations are showing fine in Mail, and if I click accept/reject on an invitation or OK on a cancellation, my actual calendar is updated as viewed in Outlook or the Exchange web interface, but no updates are shows in the Mac Calendar app at all. I turned off Calendar capabilities for that account in System Setting, which resulted in all of the entries for that account disappearing from Calendar completely, but nothing ever reappears even with the exchangesyncd process downloading gigabytes of data over and over again.
*as a side note, it appears that invitations that are generated by the Zoom Outlook plugin for Exchange (ie, invitations I receive from Outlook users with a Zoom meeting scheduled) are not recognized by Apple Mail as containing an actual invitation, so I can't even accept/reject those invitations using Apple Mail.
Type "cal..." and you should see it... In Activity Monitor of course.
Any luck fixing this? I've deleted my account completely, restarted, added it and still no luck. I also get time sensitive notifications from my own recurring event that I clear and they continuously pop back up.
Totally agree. Apple was very sympathetic and I demonstrated the issue to them which they documented. They took it to Apple engineering who then pointed the finger at Microsoft, who pronounced that exchange is working correctly. This is not customer service.
This worked, after a fashion, on Monterey. This stopped working on Ventura. I would not be expecting that this is Microsoft's fault.
I bend over backwards to use a Macintosh in a business context. This means that shared calendars and email should work flawlessly.
Apple needs to take more seriously, the use of Apple MacOS and iOS devices in a business context. Sadly, that usually means in a Microsoft world. Get with it, Apple; we want you to succeed!!
After the update of Ventura to 13.0.1 the problem is still present: the calendar does not synchronize with Exchange / Microsoft 365.
Please Apple, fix this as soon as possible! It doesn't have to be difficult, because until recently the synchronization was working perfectly ...
I'm having the same issue. I do see my default calendar from my exchange account, but none of the shared calendars. I would think it's a Microsoft issue except all my exchange calendars are visible and syncing on my iPhone. I tried all the fixes above and nothing works. I never quite understand why networking on OSX seems slower and buggier than iOS devices. Apple please fix this.
most new Apple releases lead to one or more of the following year issues: one or more calendars not synching, Apple Watch not working in Fitness plus and my made for iPhone hearing aid call routing getting messed up. Apple please fully test all these things before a new release.
This is the information I was looking for. In previous versions of MacOS I had a cron job that killed CalendarAgent every night to avoid the recurring sync problems. CalendarAgent quietly disappeared in Ventura and I thought I was losing my mind. Your comment solved the mystery for me. Thank you.
Just had another account switch over to Outlook 365. I can't even log in because I get the issue below. I never got my calendars to sync on my other account so I'm done. I've switched to Outlook on my iPhone and Laptop.
Ventura - I have no problem with the calendars syncing. I can't get Contacts to sync. I have tried all the tricks above, to no avail. In Mac/contacts I can see all my subfolders, but none of the individual contacts. If I add a contact on the Mac/Contacts app it will add it to the Exchange contacts. If I edit that contact on the Exchange side, it will duplicate the contact in Exchange rather than edit the contact on the Mac/Contact side
