Adding top sites in Safari 16.0

I have a new Macbook Pro using Safari version16.0. Existing Top Sites were brought over from my previous Macbook, but I can't find any way to add new items to the Top Sites list in Safari 16.0. Is it still possible to do this and if so how?

Hi Duke438,

You can bookmark, pin, or add a site to your Favorites in Safari on your Mac. To find out how to do those things, check out the Apple Support resources below. They will guide you through the steps for each of these options:

  1. Bookmark websites that you want to revisit in Safari on Mac - Apple Support
  2. Pin frequently visited websites in Safari on Mac - Apple Support
  3. Add websites to your Favorites in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

Additionally, you can also customize the start page in Safari to give you access to more sites quickly. Information on doing this can be found here: Customize a start page in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

Have a great day!

None of what you listed actually address the question, which is how to add sites to the Top Sites group. I just had one of my very often used Top Sites just disappear, so had to go searching for the site in my browser history, and don't see any way to restore it as a Top Site. How do we add, edit, or remove any Top Sites?

Also, I have Frequently Visited Sites checked, but there's not a single one on my Start Page, and I did have a bunch of Favorites, none of which I selected to be Favorites, and most of them, grouped as one folder, which is even less convenient than simply opening a bookmark folder.
