Will iPad GarageBand virtual instruments connect and play to tracks on Mac OS GarageBand?

Ipad 10 is connected to MaBook Air M2. GarageBand is opened on both. How can I record virtual instruments played on the iPad to tracks on the MacBook Air? In other words. Use the iPad as the input for recording, not the MacBook microphone. What do I adjust to get the iPad instruments to play into the MacBook? Or, is this possible?
