click and drag issues in Monterey

I know I've seen this issue brought up in other threads, but I'm not sure it's been addressed adequately, because I'm experiencing issues with clicking and dragging everything since upgrading to Monterey - files, folders, windows, everything! And I'm using an external mouse that was working just fine until I upgraded to Monterey, and now that I upgraded, I will frequently click on something, hold it down, and the item will not move with my mouse. Sometimes it will, but it's quite hit or miss. Has anyone else experienced this across-the-board difficulty with clicking and dragging? And how did you resolve it?

Logitech usually requires their own software drivers for their products.

Check to see if they have updated software for the mouse.

It will likely work like a normal mouse without their software, but the software currently installed (if it is) might not work correctly with Ventura.
