Red dot on iPhone
I have recently change to sim only, changed the sim and now there’s a red dot there constantly and won’t go away, how can I get rid of it?

Thanks, guys. but I meant the red dot without any digit in it. so even after I went to the voice mail (which was empty) I still have the dot. However, in one of the discussion replies, there was an answer to it.
That didn’t work for me. I have no voicemails and I’ve tried forcing a restart still have the stupid red dot
How do I get rid of the red dot
I HAVE THAT RED DOT 🔴. I HAVE HAD IT FOR MONTHS NOW. I HAVE TRIED SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS TO GET RID OF IT. I NEVER HAVE VOICEMAILS. NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK. WHY IS THERE NOT A PERMANENT SOLUTION?

If a forced restart and an update to current (iOS 17.5) do not clear this, contact your carrier.

My husband has iOS 16.3.1 iPhone SE 2022, the red dot showed up on his phone icon but noting there when he went to open his phone with his finger print it made him put in his passcode, any suggestions?

Voice mail is not related to the active microphone indicator.
If you’re using an app that uses the microphone including the phone app, you will see the red indicator.
If you have tried it all, etc., then contact Apple Support.
Yes, the “badge” means that you have a voicemail that you haven’t listened to, if it is on the voicemail label. If you have an unanswered call you will get a badge on the Recents label. If there is more than one pending message or unanswered call there will be a number in the badge saying how many you have. In general, badges on any app mean there is a notification i the app that you haven’t attended to yet.
I have this exact same problem too!
It’s so infuriating I can get it to go away!!
See my opinion! It works
I spent time on the phone with Apple support. What finally worked was making sure my voicemail was empty. And then we reset my network settings. It finally went away.
RESET THE NETWORK
The red dot on the iPhone that won't go away. Removed all phone messages. Reset the network. Turned off any microphone settings. It's still there. I have rebooted many times
Thanks but that didn't work either...didn't have this problem before updating to "ios 16.1" ....so frustrating!
No matter what I try it won't turn off the red dot off my phone display on my iPhone 11pro
