MacBook OS (Big Sur) Mail App stopped functioning

The Mail App on my MacBook has stopped functioning. The credentials have been verified on another device and the work fine. The credentials do not appear to even reach my mail server as I get no server error message as conformed by my Service Provider (SP). Further, if my credentials are wrong, the SP blocks my IP Address and requires manual intervention by the SP to unblock the IP Address. This has not occurred.

Has anyone else experienced problems like this?

Hi louisfromnaples,

Is it the case that the Mail app is not accepting your password and keeps asking for your credentials? If so, see If Mail on your Mac keeps asking for your password. This article contains information for these 4 categories:

  1. Why is Mail asking for your password?
  2. Check your password in Internet Accounts preferences
  3. Test using webmail
  4. Remove your account, then add it back

If it continues, be sure to follow your related article If you can’t send or receive email on your Mac.

Takecare.
