My Mac is does not automatically update

All the correct boxes checked. The power adapter is plugged in. Is there something else I need to do for automatic updates? What am I missing?? As an aside, these instructions seem incorrect. When I click on the apple there is no "System Settings"; just System Preferences. When I click on General, there's no scrolling, no Software Update on the right. Obviously I can click on System Preferences on the Dock and then click on Software Update (I've been doing it manually for quite a while). Thank you.

Hello ParrisWeitzman,

You provided the information from this page: Keep your Mac up to date - Apple Support

This specific link is for macOS Ventura. You can select your specific operating system from the menu bar at the top under 'Select Version' for the appropriate steps.

Make sure you're not using a VPN or security software on the Mac, which may block the connection to Apple's servers. Learn more here: Check VPN (Virtual Private Network) and third-party software to help resolve network connectivity issues - Apple Support

Should the issue persist after taking the steps above, then it would be best to contact Apple Support

They'll need to take it from here.

Wishing you well, take care.
