iPhone 13 Pro Max not receiving text messages from android or third party apps and voicemails from different callers delayed by a week.

Ever since the Apple update 15.1 I believe I am unable to receive any text messages from an android user or third party apps. I am also unable to send text messages to android users. I have checked all settings as previously suggested on my phone and through my carrier and none of these resolve my issue. I also reset network settings and still unsuccessful.

Hey jensenn79,

It sounds like you've done a lot of troubleshooting on this so far. Have you verified with your carrier that you still have SMS messaging attached to your account currently? This is important because SMS messages, usually referred to as 'text messages' are handled through your carrier, and they're what get sent to and received from users with Android devices if you yourself have an iPhone. Conversations with other iPhone users generally are completed using iMessage, which will use cellular data or a Wi-Fi, depending on where you are, to send and receive. Since the issue is purely with SMS based messages, checking with your carrier might be something you want to look into.

Also, if you're using any sort of network security software or proxy software, such as a VPN, those could be blocking required ports for sending and receiving SMS based messages, so if one of those is installed, you might consider turning that off or temporarily removing it for testing purposes.

Take care.

Hello jensenn79,

If you're unable to send or receive messages on your iPhone, you'll want to work through these steps to see if they resolve the issue for you:

If you have issues with Messages after you set up a new device
If you experience issues like conversations in Messages showing up as separate threads or sent messages appearing as green message bubbles instead of blue message bubbles when you set up a new device, update your settings using the following steps:
1. Update your device to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS if needed.
2. In the Settings app, tap Cellular. Make sure that your phone line is turned on. If you use multiple SIMs, make sure that the phone number you want to use is selected and turned on.
3. In the Settings app, tap Messages. Turn iMessage off and then back on.
4. Tap Send & Receive.
5. Tap the phone number that you want to use with Messages.

If the issue persists afterwards, work through the remaining steps in this support article: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Take care.
