Apple Notes lag when taking handwritten notes on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil

Sadly I am experiencing the same issue. I thought at first it was because I had an old iPad. So I bought a new one and I’m still having the same issue. I need an iPad for my cellular research class. I don’t want to have to start all over in my notes with a regular notebook. Nothing has worked. I have no apps open other than notes. I’ve forced restarted my iPad. I disconnected and reconnected my pencil. This is ridiculous.

Why would Apple care😂 you’ve already bought their products. Having the same problem over here and it’s ridiculous. The only thing you want to do with the combination of notes and pencil is write text and it doesn’t work. I’m waiting for the day when some other company just overruns Apple. I would gladly sell all this crap and buy somewhere else.

Haven't you noticed degrading quality of Apple made apps? It is basically worse and worse every new release. Guess good developers don't want to work there anymore. Such bug is ridiculous, where are testers in this company???

yeah, I am having this problem as well, right after update to iOS 16.2. I depend on this for law school. Apple needs to fix this garbage right now; unacceptable. I will stop investing in apple products if this isn't fixed soon

I have the M2 iPad as well. Can you tell me what notes app did you finally settle on? My semester starts in a week and I intend to take notes on the iPad, due to the lag nature of notes I can’t use them ofc.

It's honestly ridiculous how do you have to do this using the app of the brand that "just works" smh... Hope they fix this soon.

I've noticed this since last year. I was writing an important note. Then it just went. I'm selling my iPad and getting out of the ecosystem. The amount of money i put into that device. And the inbuilt Notes app on the pro device with an apple pencil just doesn't work. And its been like this over a year.

I just lost notes from a long conversation that will be very difficult to reproduce. The Note just got truncated and there does not seem to be any way to get it back. All my software is up to date. This is HORRIFIC.

This is still happening to me. I have already tried doing the forced restart and that didn’t work. I also don’t want to keep having to make new sections every time the lag starts to happen. Is there not a better solution yet. It seems to be happening a lot and it’s been 2 years now

I'm having the same problem, i think we have to change app to take notes, i don't know why they aren't doing anything at the moment to solve this big problem.

That idea worked for me. Thanks! Anyway, it's annoying, and I hope Apple does something about it. My problem started at soon as I upgraded to iOS 16.2.
