Can't see size of files in finder because size column is used to show icloud upload status

Hi,

Hoepfully there's an easy solution to this!

Often I can't see the size of files that I'm working on because the size column in finder shows the icloud upload status of all the files in there, rather than the actual file sizes. For some reason this moves ridiculously slowly. They're often just stuck at the same numbers for hours, rendering the size column pointless to me. This is especially annoying if you just export some files and immediately can't see the size of them for hours, so have to go through manually to check the sizes.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi,

They're just being uploaded to icloud. The internet connection and wifi is fine and works for everything else.

The file size can be determined – I just click on info for each doc and see the file size.

I have actually figured this out by playing around with it. If you right click in the column headers and choose to add the new column 'icloud status', it randomly removes the uploading number from the size column (despite not adding this info to the new cloud status column). Don't get why it works like this but it's fixed my issue!

Thanks,

Tom

Hi,

Thanks for spotting. I have since upgraded so I'm on 13.0. Still same problem, unfortunately.

As you'll see from the above and below screenshots - it always get stuck on the final few KBs and just doesn't clear for hours.

Cheers

The Up Arrow in both images previously suppled indicates the Location to where the files are being UpLoaded to has not finished.

Until that is 100% completed , the actual File Size can not be determined.

To where exactly are files being uploaded to ?

By what type of Internet Connection is being employed ?

Is there a Third Party Application inferring with the Speed of the Internet Connection ?
