Toast takeout app

Hello,

2 days ago this app appeared in my library. I did not download it. I checked the App Store and it still says “Get”. I also checked my purchase history with no mention of it there either. I’ve inserted screenshots of said app listed in my privacy report.

I have since, of course, deleted it. However I’ve only been able to find one other story on ALL of the internet who claims the same happened to them with no answer to how it happened.

Have I been hacked? 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔

By hack, if you mean remotely controlling or monitoring your device, then...

Keep the iPhone updated to the latest iOS always and never Jailbreak. That's it.

iOS / iPadOS devices cannot be hacked or infected with Virus / Malware / Spyware if it is updated to the latest iOS/iPadOS unless you have intentionally downloaded spurious software or unauthorized apps directly from the internet and installed them on your device or/and have Jailbroken.

It (Hacking) also depends on how careful are you in sharing sensitive and valuable information pertaining to your iPhone such as Passcode, Password, etc with your friends and family members.

Be careful when sharing the device's sensitive and valuable information with friends and family members.

Thumb Rules:

Enable Guided Access before handing over an iPhone to kids
Don't share Apple IDs
Don't Jailbreak
Don't share sensitive information pertaining to your device and payment methods
Beware of Phishing

Are you part of the family sharing? Did any of your Family members download it?

Are you sharing your Apple ID with others?

Settings > App Stores > [Automatic Downloads Section ] Apps > Disable. Please see the pic below
