Scrolling on Mac

How do I restore scrolling? Many sites online won't allow it.

Hey there Beachy40,

We'd like to help, but we're unsure of what you meant by asking how to 'restore' scrolling on some websites. The more details you provide, the better we'll understand what you're asking.

In the meantime, we wanted to rule out some general possible causes on your Mac:

  1. We see that it's running macOS 11.7, but the latest version is macOS 11.7.1. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. This link will show how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac. Please keep in mind that while macOS 13.0 is the latest version, your Mac will need to be a compatible model.
  2. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  3. Does the scrolling issue only occur in Safari, and only on the same websites?

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply Beachy40.

To help rule out possible hardware issues, try resetting the NVRAM on your Mac first:

1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, R.
3. Release the keys after about 20 seconds, during which your Mac might appear to restart. For example, you might hear a startup sound more than once, or see the Apple logo more than once.
4. When your Mac finishes starting up, you might need to adjust any system settings that were reset.

All the best.
