stopping an application from starting n boot up

The answers to this question provided in the community do not work for a MACBOOK PRO running the latest Monterey 12.6. The application is NOT listed in the Users & Groups menu. And in Finder the App itself has no selections for "open on startup or not" when you select that app. And in DOCK - Options, the "Open at login" is NOT checked for that application. And the app was NOT open at time of the last shutdown.

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

Thanks Apologies for incorrect info but that is what my MAC says...........

Well, on my MACBOOKPRO (latest you can buy) an "ABOUT THIS MAC" from the APPLE only reveals Version 12.6 NOT 12.6.1

However, on my iMAC 24 (latest you can buy) the same query DOES reveal that it is Version 12.6.1 . Go figure.

In any event, you are correct sir, I should have mentioned the app. It is "EXPRESS VPN"

Thanks
