The last version of Pages compatible with macOS Sierra was v7.2. If you have Pages v5.* in your /Applications folder, and it is backed up by Time Machine, or on another disconnected drive, then and only then you should move it to the Trash and empty the Trash. Apple does not keep past versions of full Pages installers for user download.

Launch the Mac App Store, and sign in using the same Apple ID that you used to install Pages previously. Once that has been accomplished, press the option key while selecting the Purchased toolbar item on the Mac App Store. This will open a panel of your previously installed applications and among these should be Pages with an Update button. Click that.

You may receive just one dialog offering to install the last compatible version of Pages for Sierra. Do that and when completed, you should have Pages v7.2 installed. If you receive a dialog indicating that you need to upgrade macOS to install Pages, acknowledge that (do not click Cancel), and this should lead you to the next dialog which would be the first sentence of this paragraph.
