How can set steps as target?

using iPhone 12 and also watch

I have not found a way to add Steps as a target. Change Goals only allows you to change the target for calories, exercise and stand. In the activity circles, the green, Exercise circle tracks brisk activity. Personally, I like this feature better than Steps. I used to wear a Fitbit which allowed me to set a step goal. But it also allowed me to “cheat,” by simply moving my arm to get to an hourly or daily goal. I feel the green circle on my Apple Watch not only keeps me honest, but is a better measure of activity since there is no “cheating.”


You can still see your steps when you tap the activity circles on your watch. But again, for me, I find the green circle to be more motivating since it involves more than just steps.
