Not a question but this may help others. I use a tool called exiftool to pull data out of images, but for quite a while the GPS data was missing from all JPG images made with my iPhone camera.
However I discovered that changing Settings -> Camera -> Formats to 'High Efficiency' returned the GPS data plus a lot more. For example from a recent image I took:
iPhone SE, iOS 16
Make sure 'Settings -->Location Services' is ON
I just tried again with the iPhone (now updated to 16.1.1). Changed the camera output format to 'High Efficeincy' and took a photo. But it was .jpg so most / all of the GPS data is not there. So something in the iOs update changed that.
Something is going wrong here - the GPS data should be visible from JPG files
