My iPhone won't charge on my Macbook after updating to MacOS Ventura

Hi, I am using a Macbook Air M1 2020. I recently updated my Mac to MacOS Ventura.

I noticed that when I plug my iPhone XR to my Mac, the battery indicator on my iPhone shows it's charging but the battery percentage remains the same throughout the charging course. I tested with my Airpods case and face the same issue.

Anyone facing this same issue after updating to MacOS Ventura?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.0

Until a patch is released, I have found a temporary workaround for myself. I have an iPhone XR and a 2019 Macbook Pro with touchbar. When I connect my iPhone to my Macbook using a USB-C to Lightning cable, it doesn't charge of course.

However, if I:

1) Connect the iPhone to the Macbook Pro using a USB-C to lightning cable

2) Hard reboot the iPhone by holding down the power button and volume button

3) Unlock the iPhone when it reboots back up, leaving it connected to the Macbook Pro during this entire process

...my iPhone will begin to charge from my Macbook Pro.

Hopefully they fix this with a patch soon since it's obviously a software issues, but the above is working for me in the meantime.

It does appear to be more towards to the iPhone 10 series. The issue is exactly the same with my friends XS Max, current drops to 0 when charging. But not on my iPhone SE which is stable at 1A (too old for fast charge).

I have tried an SMC reset too but no help. Same behaviour when dual-booted into Windows too. Apple support suggested I take the laptop in for diagnosis.

The issue wasn't there a few months ago, I feel it's a software issue, possibly the iPhone software itself rather than the Mac.

Has anyone experienced this issue on an iPhone other than X/XS/XR?

Has anyone found a solution to this? I have the same issue. MacBook Pro 13" 2020 (Intel), iPhone XS Max. I used a USB-C power meter and noticed the voltage ranges from 5.1-5.24v, but the current keeps dropping to 0 every 10 seconds, for about 5 seconds, before going back up to ~1.7A briefly, before dropping to 0 again. After a while the current stops completely, no longer charging the phone but the phone has the charge icon. An iPhone SE is stable at 0.7A though but I don't think that's fast charge capable.

This doesn't happen with my work laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad) using the same cable, the charge is stable at 1.5A. Pretty sure the issue has appeared since the Ventura update too, it was fine before.

All I know is my new m1 iMac charged my iPhone 10 no problem for a year running Monterey. As soon as I upgraded to Ventura, the charging issues started. Whenever I tried to charge the iPhone, it was really slow and would completely stop charging at 30%. If I charged my phone when it still had 50% life, then it would completely charge to 100% fast. I also tried charging an iPhone 7 and iPhone 11 from my iMac and both charged fast to 100% no problem.
