Can I charge a MacBook Air 2014 using a Thunderbolt cable?

For some reason the port to charge using the T-tip charger is not working. Was wondering if using a Thunderbolt cable located on the right side will charge the battery

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

No... that's only for newer Macs.
