Errors in terminal after migrating FROM m1 mac TO intel mac

Hi,

I'm getting this error in the terminal when trying to do all sorts of different things: env: node: Bad CPU type in executable

This happens after I've used Migration Assistant to migrate FROM a mac with the M1 chip TO a mac with the old Intel architecture. Prior to that I also migrated much of the same content FROM a mac with Intel to the mac with M1. But there were no problems with that first migration (to the M1 mac).

To illustrate all the migrations that have happened:

Intel mac nr1 => M1 mac => Intel mac nr2

I've had to do this because I've changed jobs two times in the last year and have used the companies computers but wanted to keep all of my things on my hardrive.

Is this salvageable in any way or is the best way to go now just to get the really important files on to an external drive and then completely resetting my current mac?

Very grateful for any help, thanks!

Did you install MacOS from fundamental sources, rather than migrating MacOS AND your stuff?

if not, re-install MacOS:

In principle, re-installing MacOS does not disrupt your files or added Applications. Best Practice is to be sure you have a recent backup anyway, as you will be replacing over 350,000 files.
