SMB File Sharing not working in Ventura

I use the SMB file sharing system to access files on my MBPro from my iPhone 12, on my local network. Until now, this has been robust, reliable and fast.

After updating my MBPro to Ventura 13.0 and my iPhone to iOS 16.1 I cannot connect the laptop to the phone or to my old iMac, running Monterey 12.6.

Connections between the old iMac and the iPhone work just fine.

Settings on the MBPro show that file sharing is enabled, but it is clearly not working. Any ideas on how to fix this? I have tried all the usual stuff, rebooting, toggling the controls off and on, etc., to no avail.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 13.0

And now it is broken again. Not sure why, but the unshare-reboot-share "fix" seems to have repaired it. We will wait to see for how long.

Thanks!! At last this resolved the issue in my M1 iMac too. I tried every other solution before with no avail. Awesome!

Ok I spoke too soon, today it doesn't work again after a reboot. Firewall rule is still there. Oh well

Sorry for my ignorance but I am having the same issue, where am I turning off the file sharing?? Where do I find it???

So frustrated. It's not working at all. I can only see Public and TimeMachine not my folders & files!!!

Any other solutions???

The fix no longer works. I was able to connect by toggling files sharing, but now, no luck. Apple really needs to fix this bug. As it is, I’m back to sneakernet.

I reformatted, reinstalled Ventura, then update to Sonoma and restored from Time Machine. Same problem at every testing point in the process. Guess this can be rolled over to Sonoma as well.
