Mac Mail no longer opening links after latest update (Big Sur 11.7.1)

Apparently, just by switching the default browser to Safari, and back to FF, the problem has been solved.

The issue here is that Mac mail failed to recognize that the only option was Safari, because it would not offer any other, but just by changing apps it is now opening in my default browser.

Two options ;

1 - Change the Default Browser to Safari

2 - When a Link within an e-mail os received >> Right click the URL and a Sub Menu appears and choose the " Other " Browser

If you refer back to the Image that was provided, you will notice the Two Browser ( Safari and Firefox ) are both available.

If the computer has Only Safari installed by default in All Versions of macOS since I joined back in 2004 with oSX 10.4 Tiger.

You mentioned changing the Default Browser in System Preferences >> General.

So what exact Other Browser is Installed on this computer ?

Thank you for this information, I am experiencing this with my old Mac (Mojave 10.4.6), I have changed the browser to Safari, and yet, when I click on the mail link, the option 'other browser' is not showing., it only lists 'open' or 'open behind mail'. Any suggestions?
