When I connect my phone to my car(wired connection in 2023 santa fe) the carplay starts and everything works fine but after a few minutes the carplay starts to lag (when I touch the screen it takes 2-3s to register the touch and all other apps seems to run slow). Using Iphone 12, IOS updated to latest version available. Does anyone knows how to permanently fix this? I tried 3 different cables(1 apple original and 2 MFI cables) but issue continues.

If CarPlay doesn't work like you expect, learn what to do.
First, make sure that your country or region supports CarPlay and that your car supports CarPlay. If you're unsure if your car supports CarPlay, contact the vehicle manufacturer.
Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps — checking CarPlay after each step:
1. Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:
• If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
• If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled under Settings > Wi-Fi and Settings > Bluetooth.
2. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display.
3. Restart your iPhone and your car.
4. Make sure that Siri is on.
5. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
6. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
7. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

Did you try reaching out to Hyuandai dealership? I tried with factory customer support and they redirected to bluelink. So far nothing helped to get this issue resolved. Problem is while using google maps from iphone, apple maps work fine. Does anyone have any suggestion how to get this resolved?
Im having the same issues with my new Santa Fe and my iPhone 13 Pro max. I cannot use the maps because the lag makes it impossible and it takes about 30 seconds to see a phone call reflected in the screen after my phone starts ringing. Did you get a solution for this?
I too have this same issue. It’s been occurring ever since I updated to 16.0. Even tried a factory reset, but nothing’s fixed it. I’m now on 16.2 and it’s still lagging terribly.
