iphoto desktop background

For my macbook I would love for my desktop background to cycle through photos from a shared family photo album hosted on icloud. I did set this up but have noticed the same 30 or so pictures are included (out of a big album with many more than that). I have tried the four recommendations from this person with the same request (Desktop pictures show in random order and… - Apple Community ) and still see only a very limited number of photos that cycle through. Is there another way to do this? Thank you

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Do you use iCloud photos with optimise mac storage selected? If so that is the problem - optimised photos are not stored on the mac so are not available for the screensaver.

Your workaround would be to export the images you want to a folder on your drive, and set the destop background to source from that folder, instead of the album.
