Using Charts in Numbers

Hi,

In Excel I can make a chart in minutes. In Numbers I can spend hours trying to figure out why I don't have a series of daily Dates on the X Axis!?

I did select the entire column for Date data. I can add Category Labels as Auto-Fill for the x axis but then I get untitled 1, untitled 2, etc along the bottom x axis even thought the Date column says "Date?"

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Thanks so much xnav, that's looking a lot better now!

"Asset (Narrow)" Column -- (X axis):

How do I get the correct selection and alter that selection for the black shaded area for the "Asset (Narrow)" x axis?

Originally the large black selection in the screenshot below was correct but then I added extra rows at the top and bottom (Asset Narrow value: 11075 to 10875 and 11950 to 12125) and now have a mishmash of black selected data?

Also, how do I get more white background space to the right of my Call chart? Pls see image.

Lastly, I don't see how to relocate the position of a heading ("Call at Expiry/Call at Now Prior to Expiry"), it's right up too tight at the top of the chart?

Thanks again, the helps much appreciated.

Hi xnav,

That's appreciated thanks. I started over on a copied sheet and selected the data correctly but the new 2nd attempt chart does not include the top chart titles ("Call at Expiry" at the top of the chart etc)?

This is odd seeing as I can't see how I managed to get the chart selection dots for attempt one over the titles of the data (Call at Expiry and Call prior to Expiry) but when I selected those titles with the pointer the two dots are at the top of the sheets*, (pls see images) yet one has pulled titles onto the chart (my first x axis selection problem) and the second sheet chart attempt (although it has the correct selections) hasn't got any titles at all? *I have not made the columns headers.

And I am really not sure why the second attempt left chart doesn't have dollars up the y axis but the right chart does? Value labels are both set as "Same as source data?"

Who knew it’d be easier pulling apart the Black Scholes Options Pricing Model and reassembling it than simply selecting data for your charts... Lol.

Cheers
