Apple Watch Webkit

This question is related specifically to Apple Watch Webkit.

I have a small simple HTML CSS without any Javascript digital business card webpage that contains several links.

<a href="sms:&body=Hello%20Raul%2C%20hope%20you%20are%20doing%20well.">Send Message</a>

All of these links work perfectly on iPhone Safari and Apple Watch uBrowser App.

When I open the webpage on iPhone Safari App and send myself a message containing a link, everything works as expected. The link appears on the Apple Watch. I tap the link and the webpage is displayed on the Apple Watch.

I tap the link on the phone number link and it proceeds to initiate a phone call. Great

If I then attempt to click any of the links below, nothing happens.

  • Send Email
  • Send Message
  • Address Link

This leads me to believe that the problem may be related to WebKit.

Can someone who is very familiar with Webkit help me out? I am using Apple Watch Series 5 running WatchOS 9.1

Thanks

Raul G.
