syncing photos - waiting for items to copy

Can Apple add some kind of progress indicator to the process of syncing? I've been waiting on "Syncing photos (step 6 of 6) - waiting for items to copy" for 45 minutes. I'd just like to know if I need to wait or just shut everything down and try again. I've got a new MacBook Pro with M2 processor, 1TB SSD and a iPhone 12 mini with 256g space, 90 of which is available. Thank you.

Best case multiple user will ask for this and then the chances will increase that it is part of a future update.

I'm not sure what you're syncing or what the heck Step 6 could be. Are you syncing pictures to an iPhone or a Mac from iCloud? If so, that could well take days. Don't sit and stare at it.
