I have saved many docs and files to my files app backed up by I drive and iCloud. When i go to access them they show the folders and the contents but as I peel through the folders there’s nothing there when I get to the last follder.

also I can’t access the files that were backed up in iCloud. This is an example from my files. But again I can’t access them. When I do they are empty

Hello Mjbluco,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We want to help you recover these missing files in iCloud Drive.

We see you viewed the Apple Support page for Delete a file or recover a file that you deleted from the Files app - Apple Support

Let's use the iCloud website to help isolate the issue and see if the files are there:

"Access your files in iCloud Drive

Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on all of your devices. Then you can access your files in iCloud Drive in a number of ways.

On iCloud.com

From a supported browser, sign in to iCloud.com with your Apple ID."

This Apple Support page has the full details to help access the files: Access and manage your files in iCloud Drive - Apple Support

We hope this helps locate the missing files and further isolate the source of the issue.

Cheers!

Thank you but no it didn’t help. I have tried that and it says the same thing in icloud. I have files saved there my I pad that are titled all mail for Michael Reagan (which is me) mjreagan12. As a matter of fact I’m sending screen shots instead of explaining. I def didn’t make any of these copies. And I have a few emails. Why just make copies for the one and not the others? I have quite a few questions for you guys about all this sharing that’s becoming automatic now with Apple. I’m gonna list a few more but is I need to resubmit on separate entries I will. I know Apple touts that they are unhackable, but from where I stand I see nothing but a million different ways to hack any Apple product one would choose. And I’m not meaning for that to be rude I’m just saying what I see. And I’m hoping that you guys can make me feel better about my securty.

so I understand if someone gets your app,e I’d and password they can get into your cloud without you really knowing right? I mean you may get an email verification right then or it may be way later and it’s just going to say that I’ve logged into iCloud via browser on iPad otherwise gen. So to me the easiest way to get into someone’s iCloud without any real alert is to buy a 9th generation iPad and when I set it up just name it the same as the one they’re trying to get into. iCloud can’t be sending alerts based on anything more definitive like an ip address or model or sedi or whatever, because I’m still getting alerts that my old iPad is signed in when I sign in. The ip address and every other identifying marker on those devices are different so they can be differentiated without question. If iCloud was verifying with markers like those then I wouldn’t get an alert saying an iPad 9th gen named MJZE just signed in to my iCloud, because my new ipad is just named Mike. But it still calls this ipad the old name and right now signed into my Mac my username is supposed to be mike also but sometime last week it was changed to MJZEe. And yes the spelling is different for this mjzee than the original mjze. That’s one issue I’ve got plenty more screenshots of the files I saved to files and as a the next few days passed I wasn’t able to open anymore. I’ve tried pdf readers zip readers json and text editors and nothing. It says there’s data in the files but when I open them with whichever viewer there’s nothing. And the thing I really don’t understand is all the tech firms encourage developers to be involved in everybody’s computer reports and usage, but if I am able to write an extension that can alter any application running on my computer then I can ultimately write an extensions that says, “hey Norton antivirus, you go ahead and tell the client you did run a check for corrupted data and guess what you good to go, just ignore the whole new rooted user I left behind.” There’s no real way to be sure? Please correct me

Thank you Nicholas,, I have tried those steps and there’s nothing.ni have contacted Apple support and talk through chats, but everytime I tell them what’s going on and I’m trying to send those files and share all the error and crash reports with them, they tell me they can direct me to someone that can help or say they’ll set up a call with a manager they literally stop communicating. I have ar least 4 different chats with 4 different people over the last month and all of them just stop. When I ask if they are still here, the chat starts all over. But thank you.

Okay that makes sense but I've Never exported any emails. I wouldn't have reason to export them. So let's say hypothetically that I didn't export them, could you explain how they were exported? I'm really looking for help in all of this. This has been going on since June and its past the point of aggravating. Its constant and its not just files its photos and passwords are leaked and need to be changed just to be changed two days later. My Apple ID and password had to be changed because apple emailed and told me they believed my Apple ID had been misused. But I don't share anything with anyone so How? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Those are your mailboxes in email. You either dragged them to iCloud or exported them and moved them to iCloud.

to my knowledge, apple does not send emails stating that your Apple ID has been misused. Most likely that was a phishing attempt and if your provided details, you may have given someone your credentials.

I have saved many docs and files to my files app backed up by I drive and iCloud. When i go to access them they show the folders and the contents but as I peel through the folders there’s nothing there when I get to the last follder.
