How to I stop iPhone 11 from asking for my 6 digit passcode to sync? I updated Monterey to the most recent new updates and now, when I plug the phone into the 2016 MacBook Pro I'm required to login to complete the sync, even if the phone is unlocked. How do I stop it from demanding my login every time I plug the phone into the computer?

Turns out that this is By Design. Apple wants us to back up to iCloud (which doesn't ask for the passcode) but it will happen if you back up via Wi-Fi or USB.

I have this problem too. Weirdly enough it happens on my iPad which is limited to iOS 15, as well as my iPhone 12 which is on iOS 16.1. It started right after I updated to Monterey 12.6.1. I haven't jumped to Ventura yet, as my machine is needed for work and I can't afford downtime right now.
At first I thought it was iOS 16.1, but since my iPad is doing it too, it must be Monterey.

Sigh. Thanks for figuring that out.
I mostly use the USB connection to keep the phone charged up, so this is quite a lot more annoying than just having to respond to the alert. I followed the tidbits link and posted a complaint.
