Is there a way to detect spyware and remove it from an iMac?

I believe that spyware (possibly turbo spy ) was installed within the Mac partition. Is there a way to detect this and remove it. The activity monitor just shows usage by a bunch of other programs that I have no idea what they do and Google searching them doesn’t really help.

Hello!

If you suspect you may have malware on your Mac, running Malwarebytes, a malware removal utility, should help.

Cheers,
