Unable to send screenshot as a text message
Since I went to Ventura 13.0 last week, my MBPro 2017 freezes when I try to send a screenshot as a text, something I've done countless times in earlier OS versions. What's happenened?

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. To isolate this a bit, does the same happen if you try to send a photo? To test, try the following steps from Use Messages and Mail to share photos from Photos on Mac.
"Share photos using Messages
- In the Photos app
on your Mac, select up to 10 photos to share. - Your recipients can play the video in Live Photos that you send using Messages.
- Click the Share button
in the toolbar and choose Messages. - Type one or more email addresses or phone numbers, or click the Add button
and select people from Contacts. - If you want, you can type a text message to include with your photos.
- Click Send."
Also, are these iMessage or SMS conversations? The method they are sent will depend on that and it might help narrow down where the issue occurs. You may or may not have SMS set up for your Mac. Reference Set up iPhone to get SMS messages on Mac to learn more about that if you'd like.
