After update to iPadOS 16.1 I noticed some visible lag when writing on iPad, notes app. Sometimes, the object erase is also not responding but pixel eraser works. Tried, restarting iPad, re-pairing Apple Pencil to no avail.
This didn't happen before I update my M1 iPad Pro 11inch.

I deleted the new app "Freeform".
After that, new notes, and notes created before IOS 16, came back to life. The couple of notes that I'd created under IOS 16, with Freeform installed, were still broken.
Same issue. Can't fix it. It seems that Apple is not interested in making efficient software anymore.

I have the same problem and now just updated to 16.3 and no different. 2nd Gen Pencil and IPAD Pro 2nd Gen Do we know if this is acknowledged as a bug by apple and is being addressed ?
I didnt have this same issue until updating to ipad os 16.3 this week. The lag is so bad
I can confirm this. I opened a new note, and there was absolutely no lag. I went back to my existing note and the lag resumed.
The lag is unworkable. And it crashes apps like procreate.
iOS 16 brought “scribble” with it. Once turned off in the settings some, not all, of the lag disappeared.
I can confirm as well. The lag I was experiencing was caused by adding to one existing note in particular, even after I "Erased All Content and Settings".
Yeah the same issue has been happening to me on iPad Air 4 and it's really really annoying!
Updated to 16.4.1. Still have the issue. Even tho it says they fixed the issue...
