iphone SE (2022) eSIM compatability

From the specs on Apple site

SIM Card

• Dual SIM (nano-SIM and eSIM)
• Dual eSIM support

Some esim providers say only compatible with SE2 (2020) and SE3 (2022). I'm pretty sure I have first gen SE but not sure how to tell. If under Model name it just says "iphone SE" does that mean its a first gen phone? However, to further complicate it when I look at Cellular Settings there is an option to "Add esim". Thanks
