The magnet charging plate won’t charge my 14Pro max

I did both and neither worked. I am wondering if the mag coonects to something metal wil it reduce the changing ability. I have a metal desk and the mag has connected to it it just drops down. It was after that which the charinging change the phone charges with plug-in but not the mag. Frustrating

I said I did both turned off and restarted and nothing worked. Sorry if you didn’t understand
