Iphone background black no wallpaper

My iphone has suddenly no wallpaper and a black background. I have tried all manner of mode twiddling, but the issue persists - any idea how to fix that?

iPhone wallpaper keeps going black Im having some problem setting the wallpaper on the locked screen.
