MacBook Air keeps shutting down/restarting each time I close the lid.

I have a 2020 13 inch MacBook Air which keeps shutting off each time I close the lid. It gets annoying especially as I transition from one class to another and have to startup my Mac again with it sometimes taking up to 5 minutes. I have tried reseting, downloaded the update, hard reset, and deleted files and downloads off my computer. After hard reseting and creating a completely new Apple ID I have noticed my problem is probably something with the laptop itself. I do not know what else to do as this problem persists and causes a lot of annoyance. I am not interested in buying a new device but this problem has really created a great deal of inconvenience.

It sounds like your Mac is kernel panicking when you shut the lid. This could be due to a few different things, some of the most common being firmware issues and third-party scripts that cause the Mac to crash. After it crashes, do you see any popups about an error?
