Volume button not working during calls

Hello Everyone!

Do you guys facing an issue like, when you call to anyone and place the phone on your ear then try to volume up and down but the key’s doesn’t work during call? You have to unplace the phone from your ears to change then volume…

like, you can’t change volume when the screen is off because of proximity sensor… You have to take the phone far from your ears so that you can change the volume and place the phone again on your ears…

this problem is happening after iOS 16… It wasn’t there at iOS 15

I have the same problem guys! I even spoke to one of Apple's guys over the phone regarding this issue a month ago. They said they do see complains regarding this and hope the next IOS update will solve this it. They suggested that I format my device and restore from my backup. I formatted my iPhone 13 pro last night and did not restore from my backup so in other words, started from scratch again. Thinking this might solve the issue. Still the same problem. My dad upgraded his iPhone 13 pro recently from IOS 15 to 16 and he also having the same problem now. This is a IOS 16 bug from Apple and they need to address this ASAP...! Please don't suggest any settings changes, like I'm an old lady with no tech experience.... I know my iPhone better than the guys at the iStore trying to sell their products... My old iPhone 6s Plus does't have this issue. Please keep us posted guys! You're the Pro's..

Hi.

Don’t bother. They will not be able to help you. They will format your device and the problem will still be there. Didn’t help on my side. You can see what they say about this. I still believe this is an update issue. So we wait…

I just upgraded from 12 pro max to 15 pro and this issue makes me dread picking calls. I never experience it on my former phone. How does Apple think this is a wise feature?

In the history of bugs this is one bug that shouldn’t get to a feature branch not to talk of production.

Hello,

I have the same problem.

During phone calls or even while listening to voice note,

the volume is very low and I can’t adjust it with the volume buttons And not even during watching any watsapp videos. We all have iphones in our joint family but will start quitting Apple . #QUIT APPLE on every social media handle

I am experiencing the same problem. I thought it was just me until I googled it and came across this. Looks like a lot of people have been experiencing it. I’m on iOS 17.1.1

Has anyone managed to get this problem resolved?

When everyone is complaining and claiming that they have the same issue, you need to troubleshoot it in the next update immediately. You don’t want to say anything else.

Same problem here .. I have iphone 11 pro max with ios 16.2 .. I even try everything but the problem still exists 🤐

The same here. iPhone 13, iOS 16.3. Still can’t control the volume while the proximity sensor is on. Lucky you guys whose iPhone works ok now after the update ;)
