iPhone 12 Pro stuck on minimum brightness

This problem has got incrementally worse. I used to be able to restart the phone when the issue presented and brightness would be back to normal. Then I had to restart a few times to get it back to normal brightness. Now I have restarted my phone 10 times today all with no success.

The problem is triggered when the iPhone restarts - either because I have powered it off or because the phone has run out of charge. When the phone reboots it goes to normal brightness level for about a quarter of a second then flicks to the lowest brightness level and you can’t change the brightness in any way from there. This is not a brightness slider, auto brightness or dark mode issue.

My current phone is actually a replacement for my old iPhone 12pro that Apple gave me under warranty because the old one had a strange data issue and a different screen defect. I’ve only had this phone for about a year but the issue probably first started about 6 months ago. I have had iPhones all my life but I am beginning to wonder if the quality has dropped off and I should look at Samsungs instead
