Desktop Outlook for Mac

I'm getting an error We encountered an error while adding account. Please try again. I spent 8 days with microsoft and they believe it's a MAC issue. I have been able to set the email up on mail, it works on the browser, it works on my iphone, and it works on a PC, it just won't work on my MAC Outlook Desktop App. Anyone know how to fix this?
