Hello Keepgrowing4u,
We suggest reaching out to the manufacturer of the headset to make sure your firmware is up to date. In terms of the iPhone recognizing them as AirPods, have you tried forgetting the device and reconnecting it?
We suggest the following steps.
Let us know if that helps, and we'll go from there.
Hi Keepgrowing4u,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand you are running into an issue pairing third-party earbuds with your iPhone. We're happy to help. Start with the steps for how to pair accessories with your device here:
1. On your device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn on Bluetooth. Stay on this screen until you complete the steps to pair your accessory.
2. Place your accessory in discovery mode and wait for it to appear on your device. If you don't see it or aren't sure how to make it discoverable, check the instructions that came with your accessory or contact the manufacturer.
3. To pair, tap your accessory name when it appears onscreen. You might need to enter the PIN or passcode. If you aren't sure what your PIN or passcode is, check the documentation for your accessory.
See more about those steps here: Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Thanks.
Thank you for the reply Keepgrowing4u!
To help isolate the problem, are you able to check to see if other Bluetooth headphones connect to your iPhone successfully? If you do not personally own another Bluetooth headphone, see if you can borrow a friend or family member's Bluetooth headphones to test this. If this does not occur with other headphones, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo to see if there is a compatibility issue. If this does occur with other headphones, reach out to Apple directly to investigate:
Cheers!
Hey Keepgrowing4u,
Have you tried using one of the Lenovo apps to connect your devices? If not, do that as it could address this. Here’s a link to one:

Take care.
It’s exactly what I did, and I did reset my Lenovo LP40 earbuds too. The earbuds model appear as “AIRPODS” on my iphone while when I tried to pair it on my android phone the model appear as Lenovo LP40. Since I updated to IOS16 I cannot use it with my iphone. I wonder why is my iphone reading the model of my earbuds as “AirPods”?

I already tried #2 and #3 of your suggestions. I am wondering how come this device is pairing perfectly well as Lenovo LP40 in my android phone and it is read as “AirPods” on iphones (tried to pair it with my friends iphone too).
Hello there!
I would like to share that the issue was resolved today when I had a firmware update when pairing a smart watch on my iphone. After that, I had my Lenovo LP connected again with my iphone.
Thank you for all your help 🙏
I tried, it only kept searching. It doesn’t detect my device as Lenovo LP40. How come my samsung phone detect it as it is and it works well, but iphone doesn’t?
Hi justinb2603,
You are right about the firmware. While setting up a smart watch on my iphone, I had a firmware update and right after that, I had my headset connected.
