Why can't I designate a page range in printing a long spreadsheet?

I'm an Excel user, but am not averse to using Numbers when a csv file I've downloaded opens in Numbers.

But I've just discovered something mystifying. I downloaded a multi-page spreadsheet csv and opened it in Numbers then tried to print only page one of the spreadsheet. This proved impossible to do!! How can there be no settings in Numbers to print a specified range of pages from a document? Something so very basic?

And the Numbers help page on printing coyly omits any mention of a print or "page setup" (no such thing, but that's another story) setting that allows you to set a page range for printing.

Hi Steven,

In Numbers, pages do not exist until you start the print process.

Numbers does not have "Print Selection", nor "Insert Page Break".

Menu > File > Print (command P) to see Print Setup. Numbers will assign the Sheet (Tab) to one or more pages, to suit your paper size and orientation (portrait or landscape).

Click on the Print button (bottom right).

Now you will see the Print Dialogue

Choose Pages: > From: 1 to 1

That will print only Page 1.

Regards,

Ian.;
