my trackpad on my macbook has been acting up. i tried using the ctrl+shift+option and then holding the power button for 10 seconds. this method previously worked when it had been having this issue earlier, but now it’s stuck on this screen no matter how many times i attempt to restart.

What's the model? If an internet; based app, perform the following...
Reset your SMC and your NVRAM:
Sometimes changes are made to the system and then settings (i.e. for USB) become corrupted, in the meanwhile. So, reset both on your Mac. See where it goes from there.

Use a Hardwired Mouse and/or Keyboard:
If you re up for getting an adapter and a corded mouse and a corded keyboard, then using a hardwired connection may be the way to go about this. If need be, you”d connect it using this adapter: USB-C to USB Adapter - Apple

You may have to perform each of the resets thrice.
And is there an external mouse synced, somehow? Does it work with the external mouse?
