Sandisk player not recognized on Mac OS

My Sandisk sport clip MP3 player wasn't recognized on my Mac. There is a forum question about this from 2020, but it seems to be closed without a solution.

I HAVE A SOLUTION.

I found that it ONLY works if I use the small micro-USB cable that came with the Sandisk player. That cable was short, but the player does show up as a mounted disk when I use the cable that came with the player.

If you are having trouble connecting a sandisk MP3 player to your Mac, try using different microUSB cables, including the one that came with the player.

Use Disk Utility to set aside an HFS Extended plus partition from command-option-shift-R boot.

Then use that boot the install the operating system that came with the Mac.

Keep in mind the partition needs to be at least 64 GB in size, and more for any larger applications or documents you might want visible in Mojave.

From there once you have installed the operating system that came with the Mac, boot into that system, and run these directions to upgrade to Mojave:

Upgrading to Mojave (Mac OS 10.14) - Apple Community

A Broady - Think you've helped me before. I have Cruzer Glide 32GB made by San Disk. On it is the install version of Mojave 10.14. I have been trying to install it on my iMac 27" to no avail. I am currently using Catalina, but want to add Mojave, as I have some 32bit apps that I want to hold onto. I used have both systems running on the iMac, was hacked recently and could never get Mojave back. Now, I have a bootable usb with the Mojave OS download on it and did successfully installed it some time ago. Despite Community Support recomendations, nothing seems to work. I have even tried Migration Assistant, but it always transfers the Catalina OS, not Mojave (even when I am using the MA from the Mojave OS. Any advice. Thanks. jn
