Harp Sound With No Way to Turn It Off

My watch is making an auto-harp sounding chime every two seconds. I thought it was an alarm sound but there was nothing on the face or the phone to indicate there was any alarm in effect from any app. I searched through the notifications and there was nothing that would indicate an alert or alarm. I tried paging through my open apps and seeing if my phone had triggered some lost watch sound for some reason but there was no indication of that having been activated. It went on for maybe 7-10 minutes and then finally faded out and stopped. But this keeps happening. I have to turn my watch off every morning to get it to stop. What is this and how do I make it stop?

Hello Livitnluvit,

We'd like to see how we can help you with your Apple Watch unexpectedly chiming when you don't have notifications. I can see how this could be concerning.

Let's start by checking to see if Taptic Chimes has been enabled on your Apple Watch.

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and tap Accessibility.
  3. Scroll down and tap Chimes.

Temporarily disable it and see if the issue returns.

You can also adjust this setting on the paired iPhone. Open the Apple Watch app > tap Accessibility > tap Chimes. Take a look at the following resources for more information about notifications on your Apple Watch:

Cheers!
