Unexpected keyboard hardware issue in M1 Air

My M1 Air, which is in excellent condition, suddenly has an issue with its keyboard. Apple authorised service centre is asking me to pay an enormous amount to change the whole keyboard and top case.

This is an issue which has been existing in previous models and apple launched a service program for it too (Keyboard Service Program for MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro - Apple Support). But they have not included their latest models in this program.

Who else is facing this keyboard issue in the M1 device?
