When my wife texts me my watch always makes noise.

So I have been trying to figure out why, when only my wife texts me, my watch will make a text sound. Even when I put it in silent. Anyone else who does and it only vibrates. This seemed to have happened after the latest update and I can’t figure out how to change this. I work in medical so I make sure it’s always on silent. She is listed in my emergency contacts but so are a few other people and I can’t seem to find a settings under her contact that would bypass silent settings? Any help would be greatly appreciate!

On your phone, go to Contacts and find your wife's entry. Under Text Tone, does it say "Emergency Bypass On"? if so, her texts will sound regardless of whether or not you have your devices on silent. Tap on "Text Tone" and turn off Emergency Bypass.

YES!! That was it! This must of been something new or I just didn’t notice I turned it one at some point but that did it. Thank you so much!

No, it's not new but it was never a very well-known feature. And, its importance has diminished with the updates in Focus. Before Focus, it was the only way to ensure that certain people could text you even if you had DND enabled.

I'm glad it helped.
